AUGUST ACCREDITATION WORKSHOPworkshop

Our annual Accreditation Workshop supports the professional development of CME providers and stakeholders. These workshops are designed to help CME professionals of all skill levels plan and deliver CME that Matters to Patient Care.

The workshop will provide participants with:

  • A platform to engage with other CME colleagues
  • Professional development resources
  • Tools to help CME become an organizational asset

The “Newcomers’ Introduction to Accredited CME,” pre-conference session will also be offered on Wednesday, July 31 to help prepare those who are new to CME for the workshop. We recommend this session for those who have been involved in CME for one year or less.

The ACCME Accreditation Workshop will be held in Chicago on August 1-2, 2019 at the Loews Chicago Downtown Hotel. Register here

Reminders for Accredited Providers

ACCME IMPLEMENTS NEW, TIERED STRUCTURE FOR ANNUAL ACCREDITATION FEEfee card

Beginning in 2020 we are implementing a new, tiered structure for the annual accreditation fee paid by ACCME-accredited providers. We are moving to a tiered fee structure in response to suggestions from the accredited provider community and to better distribute the responsibility for sustaining our system more fairly among accredited programs of different sizes. A tiered fee structure will enable us to improve services for you, better help you meet the needs of your learners, and ensure that accredited CME continues to be valued and effective in the rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

We sent a letter via email to the primary contact of all ACCME-accredited providers on June 4 describing the new fee structure and each organization’s tier placement and fee. If you did not receive this email or you have questions, please contact us at info@accme.org.

Read more about the fee structure here. The fee schedule is posted here.

Our Story of the Month

THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO PRITZKER SCHOOL OF MEDICINEu of c

This month’s Our Stories: Exemplary Practices, features The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Tom Weber, EdM, Associate Director, Center for Continuing Medical Education, shares their efforts to improve access to  data.

“Studies have shown that by analyzing complex data sets, clinicians can identify patterns that can improve patient care, yet institutional surveys showed a lack of clinician knowledge regarding access to quality data. In response, our team collaborated with the Center for Quality to develop educational sessions that increase clinicians’ engagement with big data.”
