Coalition for Physician Accountability Releases Statement Supporting Strengthened Efforts to Safeguard the Public and Healthcare Workforce During COVID-19
The member organizations of the Coalition for Physician Accountability have released a statement in support of strengthening efforts to safeguard the public and to protect our nation’s healthcare workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Under the ethical tenets of their profession, physicians routinely care for others despite personal risk,” the statement reads. “It is critical during this national emergency that the public be provided with the best care possible by qualified healthcare workers who are themselves adequately protected.”
The Coalition’s members include the national organizations responsible for the accreditation, assessment, licensure, and certification of physicians throughout their medical career from medical school to practice, in addition to members of the public and the profession. The ACCME is a member of the Coalition and has signed on to the statement.
