Call for Abstracts: SACME 2027 Annual Meeting
The Society for Academic CME (SACME) is accepting abstracts for oral and poster presentations at its 2027 Annual Meeting, May 2–5 in Montréal, Canada. SACME welcomes work that advances CPD/CME practice and helps elevate the profession. Abstracts are due October 5 in the following categories:
- RICME — Works in Exploratory Stages, In Progress, Completed Studies
- Best Practices and Innovations
- Program Evaluation
- Evidence and Data Informed Perspectives/Forums
- NEW Advancing CPD/CE Practice
Submissions are due Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:59 pm EDT. Acceptance notifications will be sent in late November to early December 2026.
Registration Opens Soon for ACCME’s Certificate Program
Registration opens October 12 for ACCME’s three certificate programs in the Winter 2026–2027 cohort:
- New! ACCME Certificate in Educational Design and Program Improvement
- ACCME Certificate in Implementing the Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited CE
- ACCME Certificate in Data Management for Accredited CE
Among these options, ACCME’s newest Certificate in Educational Design and Program Improvement can help you design, evaluate, and continuously improve your CE program in alignment with ACCME requirements. Learn how to connect your CE program with your organization’s mission and strategic priorities, design education intended to produce measurable improvements, assess learner and program-level change, and use outcomes data to strengthen program effectiveness and demonstrate educational impact.
All three certificate programs begin January 4, 2027.
Working Group Resource—Curriculum Implementation for the Professional Development and Professional Identity Formation of the Frontline CE Educator
This resource offers accredited providers practical guidance for developing frontline CE educators—the activity directors and planners who often lead CE. Developed by the Learn to Thrive 2025 Working Group on Curriculum Implementation, it shares lessons from accredited providers who implemented a competency framework and curriculum aimed at strengthening frontline educators’ skills and professional identity.
Resources to Support Responsible Use of AI in Accredited CE
ACCME has published a new resource, Content Validity for AI-Enabled Clinical Learning, to help accredited providers determine when additional review may be needed for clinical education that uses AI to dynamically generate answers, recommendations, or guidance for learners. The resource explains how ACCME will approach independent assessment of these activities and reinforces providers’ responsibility to ensure that all learner-facing content is valid, scientifically grounded, independent, and free from commercial bias.
ACCME has also created a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Accredited CE web page as a central hub for rapidly developing AI news, guidance, alerts, and related resources.
