Resources to Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Accredited Education

As part of the ACCME’s mission to create and support a culture of mutual respect, inclusivity, and equity, we are pleased to share upcoming events and resources to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of accredited education.

National Health Equity Grand Rounds Series

We invite you to tune in to the National Health Equity Grand Rounds series, which will host its first event, “History of Racism in US Health Care: Root Causes of Today’s Hierarchy and Systems of Power,” on Tuesday, February 7, from 2:00-3:30 pm ET.

Learn about the root causes of current structural inequities and past unethical medical experimentation. Led by a panel of healthcare leadership, the discussion will explore how health care professionals can work together to understand and redress past harms to create a more equitable health care system and society.

The National Health Equity Grand Rounds series is hosted and developed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Graduate Education (ACGME), the American Medical Association (AMA), the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, and RespectAbility.

CME credit will be offered at no cost to attendees. This activity has been approved for 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. See the event website for more information.

Upcoming Accredited Education Opportunities

Physicians rely on accredited continuing education (CE) to address every medical specialty and cover the full range of topics important to healthcare improvement, such as training on implicit biases, communication skills, and strategies for inclusive patient care. Physicians looking for accredited CME activities can visit CME Passport (formerly CME Finder) and search for accredited activities by specialty or keyword—such as “trust” or “communication”—that meets their educational needs. Upcoming activities related to diversity are available in CME Passport here.

Share Your Resources

We invite the accredited education community to submit DEI resources for CE programming to info@accme.org to help expand our community’s library of DEI materials. Submitted resources will be reviewed for publication on the ACCME’s DEI Resources webpage.

If you have a DEI resource that you found especially useful, we’d love to hear from you! Please email info@accme.org with the following:

  • “DEI Resources” in the email subject line.
  • Your name, title, and organization.
  • A link to the resource and a description of how you used the resource and/or found it valuable.
  • Confirmation that this resource may be publicly shared.

Please note that we are seeking resources other than CME activities. When you enter activities into PARS, you may choose to make the activities available in CME Passport. Our DEI page includes a dynamic link to upcoming DEI activities listed in CME Passport.

Thank you for your support of our mission to assure and advance quality learning for healthcare professionals that drives improvements in patient care.
