Alabama Board of Medical Examiners Joins ACCME and State Medical Licensing Boards Collaboration

We’re excited to announce that the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners has joined the ACCME and State Medical Licensing Boards Collaboration, and invite you to participate! This collaboration reduces burdens and streamlines the continuing medical education (CME) reporting process for your learners who are licensed physicians in Alabama.

How can I participate?

Using the ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS), you can report data in PARS about the CME credit that Alabama licensees have earned by completing your activities.

The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners will have access to this data to more easily determine that physicians who are requesting license renewal have fulfilled Alabama’s expectations for CME participation. This will greatly streamline the process for physicians, who will not have to collect and send their CME certificates themselves, and it will simplify the audit review process for the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.

What is the benefit of participation?

When you report CME credit in PARS for your learners, you:

  • Demonstrate your leadership to the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners and your physician-learners.
  • Decrease the administrative reporting burden for your learners, enabling them to spend less time tracking and uploading CME credits and dedicate more of their time to high-quality learning—and most importantly, to patient care.
  • Provide additional value for your CME program.
  • Reduce your work responding to credit inquiries and transcript requests from your learners when it’s time for re-licensure.

How do I get started?

If you haven’t ever reported individual learner credit in PARS, here are some steps to take to get started:

As always, we’re available to answer your questions or provide a short demo with you to explain the process. Reach out to us at info@accme.org.
