ACCME Welcomes New Chief Technology Officer

ACCME is pleased to welcome Naresh Sundar Rajan, PhD, MS, as Chief Technology Officer, effective July 6, 2026. In this role, he will lead ACCME’s technology, data, and digital product strategy, working to strengthen the platforms and services that support the accredited continuing education community.

Dr. Rajan joins ACCME from CyncHealth, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit health information exchanges, where he served as Chief Data and Technology Officer. At CyncHealth, he led the integration of more than 220+ healthcare organizations across Nebraska and Iowa into a unified health data infrastructure serving over 7 million patients. His work there included consolidating fragmented data systems, deploying statewide interoperability solutions, and building cloud-based platforms that processed over a billion health data transactions.

Beyond his organizational leadership, Dr. Rajan has contributed to national health data policy. He was appointed by the U.S. Government Accountability Office to serve on the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC), which advises the National Coordinator for Health IT on standards, policy, and infrastructure under the 21st Century Cures Act. He has also contributed to national initiatives on patient matching standards through Project US@ and on social determinants of health data standards through the Gravity Project.

Dr. Rajan holds a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Utah and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also serves as Adjunct/Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Public Health.

“What drew me to ACCME is the foundation this team has already built, trusted data, strong relationships with the provider community, and a real commitment to improving how clinicians learn and grow.” said Dr. Rajan. “I see an opportunity to build on that foundation by connecting systems more effectively and making the data we steward more useful to the people and organizations who depend on it. I’m looking forward to learning from this team and getting to work.”
