As part of its accreditation review the provider described that its CME committee annually reviews summaries of data from all activities in the previous 12 months. The primary data reviewed is taken from summaries of an open text field in an evaluation form in which learners were asked what they would do differently in practice as a result of the activity. The committee were provided with a summary of themes in learner responses in terms of changes the learners planned to implement. The committee concluded that the mission was achieved, as its expected results were to change the skills and strategies of its learners to support improved patient care.
Rationale: The provider conducts an analysis of its overall program based on learner change data collected from its activities (in this case, data on changes in competence). The provider uses this analysis to come to a conclusion as to whether it is meeting is CME mission.
