The ACCME is pleased to announce there will be no increase in annual accreditation fees for each tier in the fee structure for 2024. We do anticipate fee increases for 2025, and we are providing you with the information now to support your planning and budgeting processes. In addition, changes to the fee structure beginning in 2024 may result in assignment to a different tier for a small number of accredited providers.
The ACCME’s annual accreditation fees are based on a tiered fee structure that distributes the responsibility for sustaining our accredited CME system more fairly among programs of different sizes. The current fee structure contains four tiers, from Tier 1, comprising the smallest programs, to Tier 4, comprising the largest programs.
We have made the following changes to the fee structure for 2024-2025:
- Beginning in 2024, we will add a Tier 5, representing the top 1% of CME programs in terms of program size.
- For 2024 and 2025, program size is based on the total number of activities that were available in 2020, 2021 and 2022, or the learner interactions reported for those activities, whichever is greater. We used data that providers entered into PARS, and attested to, to assign tiers for the 2024 and 2025 annual accreditation fees.
These tiers will remain in place for 2024 and 2025, after which time we may update the tiers based on more recent data reported in PARS. The tiered structure applies only to annual accreditation fees. Fees for other accreditation services (extensions and progress reports) will continue to be assessed on a flat fee basis.
You will receive an invoice for your 2024 fee in early October. Payment will be due by January 31, 2024.
The annual accreditation fees for 2024-2025 are as follows.
