ACCME-Accredited Providers: 2023 Annual Accreditation Fees

Three years ago, the ACCME implemented a tiered fee structure for annual accreditation fees to distribute the responsibility for sustaining our accredited CME system more fairly among programs of different sizes. We kept those tier-based fees unchanged throughout 2020, 2021, and 2022. As we shared last year, the 2023 fees are increasing out of necessity to maintain the services we provide in an environment of rising costs and a changing healthcare environment.

These fees support the ACCME’s mission to assure and advance quality learning for healthcare professionals that drives improvements in patient care. We strive to create an accreditation framework that both supports innovation and evolution in accredited education, while preserving the quality, integrity, and independence of CME.

There are four tiers, from Tier 1, comprising the smallest programs, to Tier 4, comprising the largest programs. Program size is based on the average number of activities or learners, whichever is greater. We used data that providers entered into PARS, and attested to, for 2018-2020 to assign tiers for the 2022 and 2023 annual accreditation fees.

The tiered structure applies only to annual accreditation fees. Fees for other accreditation services (extensions and progress reports) will continue to be assessed on a flat fee basis.

The primary contact for your organization will receive an invoice via email for your 2023 fee by the end of October. Payment will be due by January 31, 2023

The fee schedule is shown below and is also available here.
