In one example, the provider designed and presented a rural health conference that focused on strengthening rural communities through economic development and community health initiatives. In another example, in conjunction with a suicide prevention initiative, the provider designed and presented an ethics conference that addressed the high rate of suicide in its state, particular at-risk populations (e.g. teens, elderly, those living in rural or isolated areas, those diagnosed with mental illness), legislation and policy initiatives, and how health care providers can become involved in advocacy.
