ACCME 2021 Virtual Accreditation Workshop

All Day

Join your colleagues on August 5-6 for the ACCME Accreditation Workshop: Virtual Edition. The workshop is an essential professional development opportunity for those who are new to accredited continuing medical education (CME). Together we will explore the ACCME’s requirements and expectations for accreditation as well as how accredited CE can be a strategic tool for healthcare improvement.

The Accreditation Workshop: Virtual Edition includes:

  • Learning accreditation concepts and requirements via online microlearning course modules (available a few weeks prior to the live workshop sessions).
  • Eight (8) hours of face-to-face online engagement with CME colleagues, faculty mentors, and ACCME staff to develop strategies to advance your CME program.
  • Assessment of your accreditation practice gaps and educational needs before and after the workshop.
  • Tools and strategies to support your own CME practice—including educational resources to engage faculty, clinicians, and teams.
  • Opportunities to dialog with colleagues and ACCME staff around timely topics such as the updated Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, engaging clinicians in education with Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and MIPS, and addressing public health imperatives.
  • Tools to help you position CME as a strategic asset in your organization.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE WORKSHOP?

Expect to come to the live meeting having completed 4 online Microlearning Courses.
The workshop includes self-directed online instruction—four (4) microlearning courses in ACCME Academy—which will be available a few weeks in advance of the workshop. You will need to spend approximately 90-minutes to complete the online modules during the weeks leading up to the live meeting. These courses will allow you to identify your individual learning needs and help you prepare for the virtual meeting.

Expect to engage.
We encourage you to be an active participant in the workshop and have included Interactive Classroom sessions to help you develop strategies you can apply at your own organization. You will participate in three (3) different Classroom sessions along with your colleagues. We will be using an interactive, online platform for these sessions, and you should plan to be on camera so that you can engage face-to-face to learn from and with your peers.

Expect to walk away with new strategies.
The ACCME accreditation workshop is designed to help you apply your understanding of ACCME requirements into practice within your CME program. You and your colleagues will explore the expectations of ACCME requirements while sharing practice tips with colleagues. Our goal is to help you make a plan to apply what you learn during the workshop to your everyday practice.

WHO SHOULD ENROLL?

Are you new to CME?
This workshop has been designed with you in mind! We want you to walk away with a solid understanding of the ACCME’s accreditation process and expectations as well as practical strategies to plan and deliver quality education to your healthcare learners.

Not accredited yet?
The workshop is also a great way to learn more about how to attain accreditation; but first, see if you are eligible for accreditation by visiting our information for first-time applicants.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
