CME that Counts for ABIM MOC Resources
The new ABIM MOC Assessment Recognition Program Guide was published on April 11 and includes the following updates:
- The evaluation requirement (ABIM8) and evaluation examples (Appendix A) have been revised to clarify ABIM’s expectations for evaluation of physician learners.
- New requirements (ABIM 9-15) were added to allow providers to offer Practice Assessment (i.e., “Part 4”) MOC points for CME activities that are designed to change performance and outcomes. This includes, but is not limited to, formal PI-CME.
- The ABIM MOC Recognition Statement has been updated to allow providers to indicate the MOC credit types (e.g., Medical Knowledge and/or Practice Assessment) for activities that offer MOC points.
The CME\ABIM MOC badge has been updated with a new color palette. You may download the updated badge from the ACCME website. As a reminder, along with the ABIM MOC Recognition Statement, accredited providers within the ACCME System are welcome to use the CME\MOC badge to identify and promote CME activities that are registered for ABIM MOC points. Use of the badge is optional and may appear on any activity materials, brochures, and announcements that promote CME activities that also earn MOC points. More detail and several versions of the badge are available here.
Finally, some providers have reported that they face barriers in collecting learners’ ABIM IDs. We encourage providers to advise your learners to contact ABIM (firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-441-2246) to obtain their ID if they do not know it.
